West Mesa to receive new Lowes,
an article from the East Valley Tribune, reports that after two years of discussion, the Mesa City Council approved a plan to allow a Lowe's home improvement store in west Mesa. The City Council approved a permit allowing the retail store to be built on a vacant lot currently zoned for industrial use. This is the second time the store has attempted to get approval for a plan on the 23-acre site after withdrawing its first application in the summer of 2007. Zoning attorney for Mesa, Ralph Pew, said he was hopeful that Monday's vote would mean an end to the discussions "and allow a very positive, good development on this site." http://www.eastvalleytribune.com/story/113254
